About me

I am a field biologist and a visual artist with a passion for painting wildlife, both real and imaginary. I've always been interested in nature and speculative evolution and and the inter-connectivity of it all. In art, I focus on drawing, painting, and digital illustration. I've drawn since I was given my first pencil and paper at 2 years old. During my childhood, I was inspired by nature documentaries like Planet Earth, and shows like The Most Extreme, Alien Planet, and The Future is Wild. Throughout my life, I've enjoyed observing patterns in nature through hiking and traveling. I tend to mix my real-world observations with sci-fi, fantasy, and surrealism in much of my artwork. I use art as a tool for reflection and inspiration on environmental and wildlife conservation as well as an escape to fantastical worlds.
